As consumers around the globe are locked inside their homes, demand for essential goods including hand sanitisers and surgical masks has surged, as has the cost of these goods. Regulators however have threatened to invoke price gouging laws to protect consumers…should the governments intervene or should markets be left to regulate themselves in this time of crisis?
