The Central Bank of Kenya recently noted that most SMEs – which are responsible for the majority of jobs in the country – will not survive till the end of June 2020 under the current economic slowdown resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic. Massive layoffs by huge conglomerates have been seen across the globe and employers are increasingly anxious about their financial ability to keep the business afloat while employees are concerned about job security.
