Joy works in the Corporate and Commercial Practices and Energy Practices. She started working at EMSI & Associates as a pupil in 2021. Over the years she has gained experience in legal research, regulatory review and comparative analysis of legislations, advising clients on emerging issues of law, assisting in immigration compliance, assisting in intellectual property protection and general commercial transactional support.

She supports several international clients in their market entry strategies into Kenya ranging from general and pre-acquisition due diligence exercises, incorporations and intellectual property registration and protection.

She also provides immigration service support for various clients ranging from special pass applications, dependant pass applications, work permit applications and permanent residence applications.

She is also experienced in ensuring compliance with various laws. More specifically, she ensures that qualifying clients are registered with the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner either as Data Controllers or Data Processors.

Joy is currently pursuing her qualification as a Certified Secretary at the intermediate level. She holds a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) Degree from the University of Nairobi and is a member of the Law Society of Kenya. She also holds a Certificate of Participation on Data Protection from Strathmore University’s Centre for Intellectual Property and Information Technology Law (CIPIT).
